2012 gift guide: for the ladies

Christmas is exactly one week away and if you still haven't found something for your best friend, aunt, sister or mom then maybe this will help you out! Guys, this might help y'all too!

1. Alo Mesh Overlay Sports Bra - currently on sale! The most comfortable sports bra a girl could ask for.
2. Non je ne regrette rien print on Etsy - I love the gold lettering almost as much as the meaning. It would be perfect in an entry way or home office.
3. Laura Mercier Radiance Foundation Primer - Anything by LM would make a great gift but during the winter months this would be like giving gold!
4. Hammocks & High Tea Cobalt Blue Lattice Dopp Kit - Perfect for a weekend getaway or a week long adventure and I bet the color and pattern will have everyone asking her where she got it.
5. White Oak Cutting Board from Anthropologie - I see this going to a new wife because it's feminine and masculine all at once.
6. Gold Athena Tray from Jayson Home - Perfect neighbor to the stack of books on her coffee table!
8. Stuart Weitzman '5050' Boot - Lets just say this pair of boots would be quite a splurge but they are a great season-after-season staple. There is a reason they make them every year, y'all!
9. Cashmere Snood - Easy to wear, warm and comfortable!
10. C. Wonder Navy Ikat Dinnerware - Anything Ikat with gold trim is a winner in my book.
11. Hammered Gold Druzy Ring - this one is on sale too! It has a very natural feel and is perfect to stack or wear alone.

winter weddings

Earlier today I catered a wedding which got me thinking about winter weddings. Winter can be such a gorgeous season and the weddings I looked at for inspiration definitely utilized the season to its fullest!

Here are a few of my favorite elements:

Have you ever been to a winter wedding? I'd love to know what you think about them!

the happy pig cafe - pensacola, florida

Yesterday at The Happy Pig the 'Pot Luck' Stew/Soup of the day was red beans & rice with smoked sausage. Count me in! It was spicy with a hint of sweetness and the corn muffin made my jaw drop!
The sides that came with the pulled pork dinner weren't anything special but the pork sure was. Their homemade sauces were also pretty special, especially the house barbecue and Alabama white mixed together.
I was going to stop after the red beans and rice but the Burrito Enchilada with Green Chili Sauce caught my eye. It was packed to the brim with pulled pork, rice, black bean salsa, jalapenos and just the right amount of cheese.

All in all, The Happy Pig Cafe will leave you as happy as a little pink pig and you will definitely want to go back for more between the food, service and atmosphere!

One more thing - Don't forget about the 3rd Annual "Smokin' in the Square" BBQ Cookoff, March 2-3 in Olde Seville Square. I wonder if The Happy Pig Cafe will be there?
